As you may already know Disney loves to bring new excitements every year to entertain thousands of fans from around the world.  Many of you may wonder what new is in store for The Most Magical Place On Earth in 2021.

Let’s get into it!

Walt Disney World is seeing a complete overhaul in their Epcot park in preparation for the 50th Anniversary on October 1, 2021. Epcot is receiving a “fresh futuristic-colorful take” like guests no Disney Park has ever seen before. This is known as the biggest project the Walt Disney World Company has tried to pull off in years.

Epcot will be receiving multiple new sit-down restaurants, new films, new shows, new fireworks show, new roller coasters, and more! Disney fans can expect to see some slight-to-major delays in construction either leaving some attractions scrapped or leaving major delays. Not to worry! We will be keeping you updated!

The Creations Shop will replace the former Mouse Gear merchandise store over at Epcot! This location will be a brand new building, that will feature brand new Disney exclusive merchandise, and will also be home to Club Cool. This new location doesn’t have an official reopening date yet, but it is predicted that it will open to the public in summer 2021!!

This ride will shrink you down to the size of a rat as you scurry through Chef Gusteau’s Kitchen.

Space 220 Restaurant

The Walt Disney World Resort will also be receiving a new dining experience in Epcot (near Mission Space) which is scheduled to open in early 2020. Guests will be greeted with a  space elevator leading to Space 220 Restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

HarmonioUS – Fireworks Show

Epcot had received a temporary fireworks show in 2019, but don’t fear there is another spectacular show coming to Epcot in 2020. Harmonious will be replacing the current nighttime fireworks show, as the largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney Theme Park.

Inside the Magic

Leave A Legacy

The Leave A Legacy attraction was located at the EPCOT entrance and let people get their names carved into the stone walls for a small price. It ran from 1999 to 2001, and due to the EPCOT transformation project that started in 2019, the original Leave A Legacy walls were relocated to outside of the theme park for guests to view as they pass by!

Spaceship Earth Refurbishment – DELAYED

Walt Disney Imagineering has reimagined the “Spaceship Earth” Attraction. The attraction will be receiving a full overhaul, and at this time and is re-theming to storytelling instead of history. Spaceship Earth will be closed for a rumored 2 years to finish the construction/redesign. It will open to guests around 2020-2022

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has started its preparations for the 50th Anniversary coming up on October 1, 2021, earlier this year! The Magic Kingdom will welcome guests to a variety of new shows, fireworks, attractions, roller coasters, and more! The Magic Kingdom won’t be getting massively renovated as much as Epcot, but we will still see changes!

Tron Lightcycle Roller Coaster

This hit attraction opened as an opening day attraction over at Shanghai Disneyland and was an immediate success. The Walt Disney World Company has finally started construction for the Tron Roller Coaster in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland as we see a new theme starting. This attraction is set to open late 2021 or early 2022.

Disney Springs

Now we have come down to the entertainment shopping center district of a Disney (as I like to think of it). Disney Springs was re-imagined and pretty much complete when it comes to construction and new attractions, stores, shows, and restaurants.

Disney/Cirque de Soleil

Drawn to Life – New Cirque de Soleil Show

This new show is called  “Drawn to Life” and inspired by Disney Animation and storytelling. This new Disney Springs attraction was set to open approximately March 20, 2020. (Due to park closures, it will debut another time).

These are just a handful of brand new attractions coming to Walt Disney World in 2021. You can definitely expect to see way more attractions or updates to the parks added on to this list as the year progresses. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog! I will make sure to keep everyone updated and informed about any further information or updates in the near future. Have a great day and I will see you all real soon!
