The Minions quickly gained popularity after the first Despicable Me film released, however, now after a trilogy and spin-off films, the franchise is even more popular than ever! Recently, Universal announced that a new Minion-themed land would be introduced at the resort, joining the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction.

A few weeks ago, Universal had confirmed the construction of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast attraction and two quick service locations, however, today, Universal has confirmed that Illumination’s Minion Land will be coming soon to Universal Studios Orlando.
Today, new details were revealed about the upcoming Minion-themed land’s offerings. Here’s a quick look at the offerings coming soon:
Illumination’s Minion Cafe
- It’s Minions in the kitchen, mischief in the dining room, and great food on your plate at the new Illumination’s Minion Cafe. Goes without saying, but you’ll find me eating here a lot! Don’t worry, we’ll be sharing more details soon.
Evil Stuff
- On your way out of Villain-Con Minion Blast, don’t forget to stop by the “Evil Stuff” gift shop and grab Minion and Villain-Con inspired merchandise such as the E-Liminator X Blaster or Freeze Ray based on the iconic animated films!
Bake My Day
- The new Minion-themed land will feature delicious treats including cupcakes, macarons, and cookies, but also has an assortment of souvenirs and apparel based on Illumination’s “Despicable Me 2.”
Illumination’s Theater
- Minion Land’s unique meet and greet location will let fans take photos with popular characters from Illumination’s Despicable Me and Sing films.
Pop-A-Nana
- At this Minion-inspired snack kiosk you can treat yourself to delicious popcorn or other Minion inspired sweet snacks!
Freeze Ray Pops
- As Florida summers can get a little toasty, you can enjoy a blast of icy cold refreshments and popsicles from this pop-up window kiosk! This is definitely the right way to chill on a hot summer day!
