During Disney’s recent earnings call, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the company would be scaling back on the releases of Disney+ Originals, and emphasized that many titles may be removed from all of Disney’s streaming services. Today, several outlets and Disney executives have confirmed that several titles will be leaving Disney+ and Hulu this month.
Let’s get into it!
Similar to how Warner Bros. Discovery removed dozens of originals and library titles from HBO Max after the company’s merger, known as “the HBO Max purge,” Disney+ and Hulu will also be seeing a substantial removal of many short-lived series, movies and specials within the coming week. These titles are all leaving the streaming services on May 26, and many more are expected to follow, with the list still not confirmed by Disney yet. Several Freeform titles are set to leave Hulu on May 26 as well (as indicated below with a star symbol).
