Disney has begun it’s phased reopening of Disneyland on July 9th. The first area that is open is Disney Downtown. The lines were out the door and some of the biggest fans were waiting the whole night for this long-awaited experience.
The Anaheim spokesman, Mike Lyster said “the city officials are very encouraged and very happy to see Downtown Disney opening.”
Above all, Disney had set an abundance of safety measures such as physical barriers at some locations, hand sanitizer stations, temperature screening prior to entry, all guests need to social distancing, and any guests ages 2 and older are required to wear face coverings.
However, the Disney shopping area has reduced hours to focus on sanitization and cleaning after guests, restaurants will only allow outdoor seating, and bars will still remain closed.
The rest of the Walt Disney World phased reopening begins on July 11 with the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom parks reopening. Then, the Hollywood Studios and EPCOT parks will reopen a few days later on July 15.
While Disney World in Florida is reopening, Disneyland Park and California Adventure reopening dates are still unknown and are waiting for guidance from state officials.
