Walt Disney Imagineering (Concept Art)
Well folks, after several years of planning, the Splash Mountain re-theme at Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort is officially happening.
Let’s get into it!
As you may already know, the popular attraction located in Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are both based on the controversial 1946 film, “Song of the South.” After the worldwide events in 2020, Disney decided to announce the re-theme of both versions of the classic attraction to “Princess and the Frog” and vowed to never release the film on any digital platforms.
However, recently during the ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans, Disney had announced that “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” would be opening in Late 2024, along with some new details and concept art. This attraction is set to be themed after the events based on the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a musical adventure inspired by the beloved story and characters from the fan-favorite film. Picking up where the film left off, guests will join Princess Tiana, Naveen and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure through the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration where everyone is welcome. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends and travel through the bayou to original music inspired by songs from the film as they are brought into the next chapter of Tiana’s story. – Disney Parks Blog

Construction is set to begin soon, with more details likely being revealed at the upcoming D23 Expo in September. Are you excited for this new attraction?
