Genie+, is a new service built into the MyDisneyExperience (Disney World) and Disneyland apps, that replaced the former FastPass starting in 2021. Both FastPass and Genie+ have had a complicated history… and today I am here to talk all about the Genie service!

What Is GENIE+?
Genie+ is an add-on service built into the platform on both the Disney World and Disneyland apps, and replaced FastPass in 2021. In order to get access to Genie+, you must pay for it when you arrive at the resort (starting June 8, 2022). When you enter the app, there will be an optional portal sending you to Genie+, showcasing an itinerary custom built for you or family members! There you can make observe attraction wait times, make restaurant or Genie+ reservations, purchase Lightning Lane or read more about experiences at the resort!
Individual Lightning Lane
Individual Lightning Lane listings are available within the Disney Genie+ portal, but is an additional pay-queue only available for select attractions at the resorts. If you decide to purchase a Lightning Lane for an attraction, Genie+ is not included or needed to purchase lightning lanes. These are two separate purchases. Cost may vary, ranging anywhere from $7-$17 USD PER PERSON.
At the Walt Disney World Resort, attractions such as Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Rise of the Resistance, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After and Avatar Flight of Passage are available.
At the Disneyland Resort, attractions such as Radiator Springs Racers, Rise of the Resistance and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure are available.
How to Make Reservations
When you enter the apps, through the Genie+ itinerary, you will be able to select exactly which attractions you would like to select for a specific time. Remember, reservations run out fast so try to be one of the first ones to click!!! Attraction availability may vary each day depending on crowd level and park hours.
MUST-KNOW Information
Every guest can only book 1 Genie+ attraction, every 2 hours PER PERSON. You must wait 2 hours to book a new attraction after the last one is finished. If you miss your Genie+ selected time, your booking will automatically be canceled and you will be unable to book any new reservations for the rest of the day.
Beginning June 8, 2022, at the Walt Disney World Resort all guests will be able to begin booking their Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane from anywhere in Florida at 7am.
