Due to the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World resort approaching in October 2021, Disney has been working hard to glam up the resort for the event! Throughout the past few months, Disney had repainted the Cinderella Castle, re-decorated the Cinderella Castle, repainted the entry signs, and so much more! Today, I will be going over the upcoming Disney World 50th anniversary changes, and what to expect.
Let’s get into it!
Storybook Circus is and always has been one of the most beloved parts of the Magic Kingdom, known for it’s circus theme. This land has been around since the early 2000’s re-theme of New Fantasyland, and has since seen many changes. With the 50th anniversary of the resort coming up soon, Disney has been ramping up refurbishments, construction, and decorating all four parks within the past few months.
Recently, Disney had filed a order with Orange County that lists the Storybook Circus’ iconic entrance Marquee will be receiving a 50th anniversary refurbishment similar to what we have seen done with Tomorrowland. There has already been a lot of activity in this area with Dumbo the Flying Elephant being repainted, and Pete’s Silly Side Show along with the Casey Jr. Splash Pad both receiving refurbishments.

It is still unknown what they will be adding or temporarily re-theming in this area, but it is clear it will have something to do with the 50th anniversary EARidescence color scheme. Hopefully this area will turn out beautiful in the end, and I cannot wait to see it in-person! Remember the “World’s Most Magical Celebration” (Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary begins October 1, 2021. I cannot wait to see you there!
