A few months ago the Walt Disney Company had announced that the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida would be receiving a brand new shopping district like Disney Springs, and will be finished within a few years! Today, I will be reviewing the Flamingo Crossings shopping center construction updates and other details.
Let’s get into it!
Flamingo Crossings Location
The brand new Flamingo Crossings shopping center was originally announced in 2007 and remained in development ever since. This Flamingo Crossings Town Square is supposed to be home to 7 hotels, a handful of restaurants, a handful of stores, and 2 Disney College Program residence areas. It is expected to open any time between 2021-2023, because of construction that started on some hotels in mid/late 2020.

Restaurants
As a part of the Flamingo Crossings plan, the restaurants that are planned or confirmed to open at this shopping district so far are Persimmon Hollow Brewing Co., Ellie Lou’s Brews & BBQ, Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, Five Guys (Burgers and Fries), PDQ Chicken, Firehouse Subs, Pieology Pizzeria, Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi, Dunkin’, Domino’s Pizzeria, and Wendy’s.
Retail
The retail (stores) that are planned to open at the Flamingo Crossings shopping district include, Target, Five Below, Walgreens, and the UPS Store. More stores will be added to the expanding list over time as the Flamingo Crossings plan progresses!
Hotels
Several hotels were planned to be built at the Flamingo Crossings Town Square area. These hotels are notable brands from the Marriott and Hilton companies such as Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, Springhill Suites, Townplace Suites, Homewood Suites, Home 2 Suites and Hilton. These were the only hotels listed so far but many more could be added spontaneously!
Disney College Program Residences
The Disney College Program is program that allows college students across the United States can to stay and work at the Disney properties such as (Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney’s California Adventure). Walt Disney World already owns multiple Disney College Program residential areas on property, and are planning to build two more massive residential areas at the brand new Flamingo Crossings shopping center!
Construction Details & Other Details
Years ago, the only part of the shopping district that was ever built was the entry sign. Several hotels just started being constructed in mid 2020, and were slated to open in November/December of 2021. Every since the Flamingo Crossings plan was announced and updated in December 2020, construction has kept moving forward! The town square should be fully completed by the end of 2021, if not 2022.
